Nepal Beats UAE in ICC Women's Asia Cup Cricket

Kathmandu: Nepal triumphed over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in today’s match of the ACC Women Asia Cup Cricket Tournament, 2024, held at the Dambulla International Stadium in Sri Lanka. This victory marks a strong start for Nepal in the tournament, as they secured a six-wicket win.

Chasing a target of 116 runs, Nepal reached the goal in 16.1 overs with the loss of only four wickets. Samjhana Khadka emerged as the standout performer for Nepal, scoring 72 runs off 45 balls, which included 11 fours. Other notable contributions came from Rubina Chhetri with 10 runs, and Sita Rana Magar and Puja Mahato, who each scored seven runs.

For the UAE, Kavisha Egodage was the leading bowler, taking three wickets, while Lavanya Kenny secured one wicket.

Earlier, UAE, after being invited to bat first, managed to score 115 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Indu Barma was the pick of the bowlers for Nepal, taking three wickets. Kritika Marasini, Sabnam Rai, and Kabita Joshi each chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Nepal's next match in the tournament is scheduled against Pakistan on July 21.
